Steff Aquarone, MP for North Norfolk, is looking for an exceptionally organised, thoughtful and dependable Constituency Assistant to join his team permanently in North Walsham.
This is a varied and trusted role at the heart of a busy constituency office. It combines responsibility for the MP’s diary and correspondence with practical support for constituent casework.
The successful candidate will help ensure that Steff’s time is used effectively, his commitments are properly planned and the people who contact the office receive a prompt, compassionate and professional response. They will also support the casework team by logging enquiries, gathering relevant information, monitoring outstanding actions and helping cases move forward efficiently.
“People contact an MP’s office at important moments in their lives. They may need help, want their voice heard or simply need someone to take their concerns seriously. This role is about making sure our office is organised, responsive and human — and that I am able to give North Norfolk the service it deserves.”
This is not a conventional Executive Assistant role, nor is it solely a casework position. It connects the MP’s diary, correspondence and constituent service, helping the whole office work effectively.
One moment may involve reorganising a complicated day of constituency visits or making travel arrangements. The next may involve speaking sensitively with a distressed resident, drafting a reply, logging a new case or making sure an urgent enquiry reaches the right colleague.
The successful candidate will need excellent judgement, a calm approach and the confidence to take responsibility. They will work closely with Steff, the Office Manager and colleagues across the casework and communications teams.
