We are looking for a kind, compassionate, and dependable Live-In Carer to become an important part of a supportive home environment from Monday through to Thursday each week.
This role is based within a private residence and offers the opportunity to provide meaningful support that helps maintain the client's comfort, wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. The position includes a 22-hour contracted day, with approximately 8 hours of direct support spread across the day, including morning, lunchtime, teatime, and bedtime routines.
As well as assisting with daily living tasks, the role will involve accompanying the client on occasional outings and activities, such as visits to local cafés, shops, garden centres, appointments, or other gentle social activities. These outings are an important part of helping the client remain active, engaged, and connected to their community.
The carer will have their own private bedroom within the home and may take up to 2 hours away from the property each day if they wish. Outside of agreed support times and personal time away, the carer will remain available within the home to provide reassurance, companionship, oversight, and assistance as needed.

About the Role
We are looking for someone who is kind, patient, positive, and emotionally aware, with a genuine desire to make a difference in someone's daily life. The ideal candidate will be able to offer encouragement, reassurance, and companionship, particularly during times when the client may be feeling anxious, low in confidence, or overwhelmed.
A friendly and engaging personality is important, as the role involves building a trusting relationship and providing meaningful companionship. The client enjoys conversation and appreciates someone who is chatty and upbeat, while also being a good listener who can offer understanding and support when needed.
The client benefits from a flexible and adaptable approach. While routine can be helpful, there are times when making decisions or participating in activities can feel challenging. The successful carer will be able to gently encourage and motivate, using patience and good judgement to support the client in a way that feels comfortable and manageable. Knowing when to encourage participation and when to offer a little extra understanding and reassurance is an important part of the role.
Experience of supporting individuals who experience anxiety or other mental health challenges would be beneficial not essential and training will be provided. The client independently manages her stoma care, although occasional practical support or reassurance may be appreciated, so any knowledge or experience of stoma care would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
The client's Christian faith is an important part of her life, and we are looking for someone who will be respectful and supportive of her beliefs and values.
The client particularly enjoys spending time with carers who bring warmth, positivity, and a proactive attitude to the role. She values being included in day-to-day activities and enjoys carers who can confidently use their initiative while remaining sensitive to her emotional and physical wellbeing. Your Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centred support to help the client remain comfortable, safe, and independent in her own home.
- Assist with personal care and key daily routines, including morning, lunchtime, teatime, and bedtime support.
- Offer companionship, emotional support, and encouragement, building a positive and trusting relationship.
- Gently encourage structure, routine, and engagement in daily activities while remaining flexible to the client's needs, energy levels, and wellbeing.
- Support the client with decision-making and help reduce feelings of anxiety or overwhelm, whilst ensuring she remains involved in her day-to-day life.
- Prepare light meals and refreshments and support the client's general comfort and wellbeing.
- Be aware of the client's stoma care needs and provide occasional support or reassurance if required.
- Monitor and communicate any significant changes in the client's health, mood, or wellbeing to the appropriate person.
- Remain available within the home outside of direct contact hours to provide reassurance and assistance when needed.
- Promote the client's dignity, privacy, choice, and independence at all times.
