We are recruiting for a skilled Chef de Partie to support the team across Walterz Cafe, Walterz Hub and Newton Hall's Stanley Bar. The successful candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment, serving large private bookings, ensuring the highest standards of food and beverage customer service quality are maintained. Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and the preparation of high-quality meals. You will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the standards of food safety and hygiene in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and measuring.
- Assist in the preparation of fresh food and weekly specials.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed consistently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Participate in menu planning and development as needed.
- Completing opening and closing checks and filling out relevant paperwork.
- Keep proactive during quieter periods.
- Cover holidays/sickness and any extra shifts to meet the business's needs.

Requirements
- Proven experience (min. 2 yeas) as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- 2 years fresh food experience
- Level 3 food safety.
- Grill chef experience - preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
- Comfortable with solo work, both in the kitchen and serving.
- Experience in serving large functions.
- Flexibility between stations.
