Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plater/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding capabilities, particularly Flux Cord/MAG welding, and have experience working with various materials including sheet metal. This role involves fabricating and assembling components with precision and attention to detail, contributing to high-quality production standards. Duties
- Perform Flux Cord/MAG welding and other welding techniques on a variety of steel components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to assemble, fabricate, and repair metal structures
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
- Operate machinery and equipment safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Measure, cut, and shape materials using appropriate tools and techniques
- Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety standards at all times
- Assist in the assembly of components as required, ensuring precise fitting and alignment
Experience
- Proven experience in Flux Cord/MAG welding, with a strong understanding of various welding techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication processes involving sheet metal
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to industrial assembly and manufacturing environments
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics accurately
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
- Experience working with assembly processes in a manufacturing setting is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding and metal fabrication is highly valued
