Duties
- Assist lead roofers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers in accordance with safety standards
- Handle heavy lifting of roofing materials such as shingles, metal panels, and insulation to ensure efficient workflow
- Use schematics and technical drawings to understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution
- Support fabrication and cutting of roofing materials using welding equipment and fabrication tools as needed
- Assist with masonry, carpentry, plumbing, or other related tasks to support overall construction efforts
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by clearing debris and storing tools properly throughout the day
Skills
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings for roofing projects
- Basic welding skills for metal roofing components or structural supports
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and measuring devices
- Experience in construction or related fields is highly desirable
- Knowledge of roofing techniques and materials including shingles, metal panels, or membranes
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively on various construction tasks
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts
- Understanding of plumbing or masonry basics can be a plus for versatile support roles
- Good teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills on-site
