Hugh Crane Ltd are looking for a tractor driver to join our skilled team. We are a farm specializing in growing seed crops, potatoes and onions. We run a fleet of modern John Deere tractors with a wide variety of equipment.
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Tractor Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating tractors and related machinery to support various agricultural operations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and effective communication within the team.
Prior experience ploughing is essential. The role will involve a wide variety of jobs around the farm including ploughing, cultivations, trailer work, cultivations and muckspreading along with telehandler and forklift operations. Overtime at 1.5x your normal rate will be paid on hours over 39 per week.
Duties
- This role is to be the main plough operator on the farm.
- Operate tractors to complete a wide variety of tasks across the farm including cultivations, trailer work, ploughing and muck spreading.
- Relief spray driver.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with loading produce in and out of storage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Work with our talented team to produce the best quality produce.
Skills
- Experience ploughing is essential.
- Proven experience in tractor driving.
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Telehandler and forklift experience and licenses are an advantage training is available if not.
- PA1, PA2 and PA4 are an advantage, but training will be provided if required.
