Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer

Working pattern: Full-time, with Sundays off
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established, privately owned food manufacturing and airline catering business based in London.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation systems across the site. This is a practical, hands-on role within a growing and supportive organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Repair and maintain air-conditioning systems, chillers, freezers and refrigeration equipment
- Identify faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on refrigeration, air-conditioning, air source heat pump and ventilation units
- Attend reactive service calls and breakdowns
- Work on split air-conditioning units, VRF systems and air source heat pumps
- Install air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Complete mechanical and electrical work relating to refrigeration equipment
- Ensure all installations and repairs meet safety and legal requirements
- Read and work from technical drawings
- Support the Chief Engineer and wider engineering team
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance work
Essential requirements
- Current F-Gas certification
- Previous experience as a Refrigeration Engineer, Air-Conditioning Engineer or Refrigeration Technician
- Experience working with commercial or industrial refrigeration systems
- Good fault-finding and repair skills
- Understanding of refrigeration electrical systems
- Ability to work safely and follow site procedures
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Practical and reliable approach to work
Desirable experience
- Experience installing and maintaining ventilation systems
- Knowledge of air source heat pumps
- Experience working in food manufacturing, catering or another production environment
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
