Hourly salary: £25 per UDA, with an established list
Are you a compassionate and patient-focused Dentist looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to some of the most vulnerable members of our community?
Hewetts Dental is looking for a caring and dedicated Domiciliary Care Home Dentist to join our established team, providing high-quality NHS dental care to patients living in care homes across the local area. This is a rewarding opportunity for a clinician who enjoys building relationships with patients, delivering person-centred care, and working in a role that goes beyond the traditional practice setting.
- Deliver truly rewarding care to patients who may otherwise struggle to access dental services.
- Established domiciliary service replacing an existing clinician.
- Dedicated Dental Nurse accompanying you for every visit.
- All clinical equipment, emergency drugs and materials provided.
- Opportunity to build lasting relationships with care home teams and residents.
- Supportive leadership team committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
This is a unique opportunity to provide NHS dental care to patients living in residential and nursing care homes within approximately a 40-minute radius of the practice.
You'll travel between one or more care homes during each clinical session, supported throughout by an experienced Dental Nurse who will accompany you on every visit.
The role will involve providing a range of general dental treatments, including:
- Routine dental examinations.
- Preventative care and oral health advice.
- Simple restorative treatments.
- Denture assessments and adjustments where appropriate.
- Providing compassionate care to elderly patients and those living with complex needs, including dementia.
This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys working independently while being fully supported by an experienced nursing team.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you'll be travelling between care homes throughout the day.
We're looking for a Dentist who:
- Is GDC registered with an active NHS Performer Number.
- Is confident providing high-quality general dentistry.
- Has a caring, patient and compassionate approach.
- Enjoys working with elderly patients and those with additional care needs.
- Is comfortable travelling between care homes.
- Builds positive relationships with patients, carers and care home staff.
- Values teamwork and works collaboratively with nursing colleagues.
Previous domiciliary experience is welcome but not essential. Above all, we're looking for someone with empathy, patience and a genuine passion for improving access to dental care.
- NHS contract delivering approximately 600 Courses of Treatment per year.
- £25 per UDA.
- 50% laboratory fee split.
- No additional practice recharges.
At Hewetts Dental, we're proud to provide high-quality dental care both within our practice and out in the community. Our domiciliary service plays a vital role in supporting patients who are unable to attend a traditional dental practice, ensuring they continue to receive the care they need with dignity and compassion.
You'll be joining a supportive team that values collaboration, professionalism and making a real difference every day.
If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can combine your clinical skills with compassionate, patient-centred care, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and help us continue providing essential dental care to patients who need it most.
