The Role
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support tailored to each individual's needs. You'll work as part of a dedicated team to promote recovery, wellbeing, and independence while helping people maintain meaningful connections within their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with mental health needs.
- Encourage independence and support people to achieve their personal goals.
- Assist with daily living activities, household tasks, and life skills development.
- Support individuals to attend appointments, access local services, and participate in community activities.
- Build positive and professional relationships with the people we support.
- Promote wellbeing, recovery, choice, and dignity at all times.
- Maintain accurate records, daily notes, and support documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- At least 12 months' experience in a Support Worker, Mental Health Support Worker, Care Assistant, Recovery Worker, or similar social care role.
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs, complex needs, or behaviours of concern.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience within supported living, community support, or residential care services.
- Understanding of person-centred, recovery-focused, or trauma-informed approaches.
Shift Patterns
We operate a flexible rota which includes:
- Day shifts: 8:00am–6:00pm and 9:00am–9:00pm
- Waking night shifts: 6:00pm–8:00am
- Sleep-in opportunities available
- Flexibility across weekends and bank holidays as part of the rota
- Full-time hours available (35+ hours per week)
