About the Role
This is a live-in care position, meaning you will live in the client's home for the agreed period of care and provide support throughout the day and, where required, during the night.
You will become an important part of the client's day-to-day support while respecting that you are working in their private home. You must be professional, respectful, reliable and able to maintain appropriate boundaries at all times.
The role is focused on helping the client remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own home, while providing companionship and practical support according to their individual care needs.
The successful candidate must be comfortable living away from their own home during their agreed live-in placement and working independently within a client's household.
What Live-In Care Involves
As a live-in carer, you may be required to:
- Support the client with their personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, following the client's care plan and moving and handling guidance.
- Support the client with getting up, going to bed and moving safely around their home.
- Support with medication in accordance with the client's care plan and agreed responsibilities.
- Prepare meals and drinks and encourage appropriate nutrition and hydration.
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
- Accompany the client to appointments, activities or outings where required.
- Support the client to maintain their independence and daily routines.
- Carry out reasonable household tasks connected with the client's care, such as preparing meals, laundry and keeping the client's living areas clean and comfortable.
- Monitor the client's wellbeing and report any concerns or changes promptly.
- Maintain accurate care notes and records.
- Follow the client's care plan, risk assessments and instructions provided by CareVita.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns immediately.
- Respect the client's privacy, dignity, choices, property and home.
Living in the Client's Home
Because this is a live-in role, you will stay in the client's home for the duration of your agreed placement.
The carer should understand that every client's home and circumstances are different. You must be adaptable and respectful of the client's routines, preferences and household.
CareVita expects carers to:

Live-in care does not mean being available every minute of the day. The carer's working arrangements, duties and agreed breaks will be based on the client's care plan and the agreed placement arrangements.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, you must:
- Have previous live-in care experience.
- Have experience supporting vulnerable adults.
- Speak Italian or Filipino.
- Be reliable, compassionate and trustworthy.
- Be comfortable living in a client's home.
- Be able to work independently.
- Have good communication skills.
- Be willing to provide references, which will be checked.
- Meet CareVita's required recruitment and safeguarding checks.
- Be available for an ASAP start.
Who We Are Looking For
This role is particularly suited to an experienced carer who understands the responsibilities involved in live-in care and is confident supporting vulnerable adults in their own homes.
We are not looking for applicants without live-in care experience.
