Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team, and work on our Happy Heads project, for primary school aged children. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and mentoring young people, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their personal goals. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering a safe and positive environment for youth.
Duties
- Provide guidance and support to young people in various settings, including schools, community centres, and outreach programmes.
- Support young people by establishing trusting relationships and encouraging positive behaviours.
- Facilitate group discussions and workshops that address relevant issues faced by young people.
- Monitor the progress of participants and provide feedback to help them reach their goals.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports as required by the organisation.
Skills
- Experience working with children or young people in a mentoring capacity is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to engage and inspire young individuals through activities.
- A passion for youth work and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge around safeguarding.
- Understanding of online safety issues.
