About us
Traynor Group is an owner-led UK group of around a dozen companies. We invest in, refurbish and let residential property alongside a technology and professional-services business. We run on a modern, AI-assisted stack: our reporting, tracking and financial model all run through Claude. The business has grown faster than its operations, and we're now hiring the person who will own and run those operations day to day.
The role
You will own the operational running of the group so the owner can focus on strategy and growth. The owner sets the shape and direction; you make sure everything actually happens. You track every commitment, keep invoicing and compliance on schedule, produce the weekly reporting, and manage the team and advisers who deliver the work. This is a hands-on role for someone who chases things to completion and keeps a clean board — not an assistant, and not someone who needs to be chased themselves.
What you'll do
- Own the action log — every task has one owner, one deadline and an honest status. Run a weekly review that closes, escalates or reassigns every open item.
- Deliver a weekly one-page snapshot to the owner: cash by company, invoices due and overdue, compliance status, and the decisions he needs to make.
- Get every invoice out on time, and keep every supplier and lender paid on time.
- Own the compliance register — gas safety, EICR, insurance and licensing across the portfolio — so nothing ever lapses.
- Manage the team day to day: the property manager, refurbishment lead and bookkeeper — keeping their work on track and unblocked.
- Keep the refurbishment programme moving: budgets, material accounts, contractor invoices, and the safety bookings each site needs.
- Coordinate external advisers — accountants, solicitors and mortgage broker — holding them to written deadlines.
- Keep the financial model's inputs current and run our Claude-based workflows day to day.
What you must have
- 3+ years in operations, office/business management or a similar all-rounder role, ideally in an owner-led or multi-company business.
- Financially literate — comfortable with a P&L, a cash position and spreadsheets.
- A superb organiser who chases people to deadlines — including senior advisers — without being told.
- A finisher who keeps a clean board and never loses track of a commitment.
- Comfortable working through AI tools — we run on Claude and you'll use it daily.
Nice to have
- UK residential property or lettings experience, and knowledge of UK letting compliance (gas, EICR, insurance, licensing).
- Experience managing a small team and external suppliers.
Your first 90 days
- By day 30: the action log is rebuilt and trustworthy; the first weekly snapshot is delivered; every compliance certificate is logged with a renewal booked.
- By day 60: all overdue invoices issued and supplier arrears cleared; every adviser working to a written deadline.
- By day 90: the weekly system runs itself and the owner reviews by exception.
Package
£50,000–£58,000 per year, workplace pension, 28 days holiday, hybrid based at our office up to 3 days per week in East Kilbride.
