We're a family-run community pharmacy and we're looking for someone to join the front of our shop. This is a people job first. You'll be the person our regulars see when they come in, and a lot of them have been coming in for years.
Day to day you'll be serving customers on the counter, taking in and handing out prescriptions, answering the phone, keeping the shop floor tidy and well stocked, and helping people find what they need. Alongside that there's an admin side: helping keep our records and stock paperwork straight, and supporting the team with bookings as we grow our private services.
We're also building up our presence online, so if you enjoy putting together a post, taking a decent photo of a window display or writing something friendly about a new service we're offering, we'd like to hear about it. It's a nice-to-have rather than a must, and we'd give you protected time each week for it.
What we're looking for:
- Warm, patient and genuinely comfortable talking to people, including those who are unwell or worried
- Reliable, and able to keep confidences. You'll hear things that stay in the pharmacy
- Organised enough to keep on top of the paperwork side without being chased
- Either holds a Medicines Counter Assistant qualification or is happy to complete one with us (we'll fund and support it)
- Comfortable with a computer. Confidence with Instagram or Facebook is a bonus
Retail or customer service experience is welcome, pharmacy experience is not required. We'll train you.
What you'll get: full training and support towards your MCA qualification, and a route into further pharmacy qualifications if that's a direction you want to go. We're expanding our private services this year, so there's real scope to grow into something bigger here.
