Post Title: Aerospace picker/packer/driver
Reporting to: Aerospace Quality
Prime Objective: To assist in the smooth running of all aspects of picking, packing and delivery of customer orders
Hours: Full Time – Inspection area and field based
Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 4.30pm with 45 minutes lunch break
Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm with 30 minutes lunch break
Key Areas of Responsibility – The Role
Ø To pick and pack orders for customer deliveries
Ø To bag down bulk stock in date order on arrival keeping in line with F.I.F.O.
Ø Process kitting orders as and when directed by the Quality Lead.
Ø Maintain daily records of supplier shortages during the bagging down process.
Ø To work efficiently and effectively as part of the quality team and to communicate effectively between colleagues, managers and supervisors.
Ø To share ideas to enhance/improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the aerospace operations with the Quality Lead and the Quality Manager.
Ø To interact with other areas of Portafix’s business as and when required.
Ø To carry out any reasonable task as requested.
Ø To maintain high levels of Health & Safety standards.
Ø To ensure performance is in accordance with all standards held by the company (e.g., ISO 9120B).
Ø Make customer deliveries and place items at point of use.
Ø To communicate effectively and build relationships with customers.
Ø Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.
Ø Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
Ø Report any anomalies to the Aerospace Quality Lead or Quality Manager.
Warehouse Operative – The Person
Ø Experience working within a warehouse environment; with the ability to carry out duties involving regular light, medium and heavy lifting.
Ø Capability to follow instructions, to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Ø Able to work on own initiative and driven by a desire to make a difference and able to demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
Ø Full driving licence
Ø IT literate (Microsoft Office) with a good standard of General Education including literacy and numeracy.
Ø Customer service experience desirable.
Ø Previous experience in an inspection role desirable.
Ø Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or AS 9120B quality systems desirable.
Ø Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise effectively. Diligent with a good eye for detail/visual awareness.
Ø A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
