Head of Locality - Children's Services
Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Locality to join a Local Authority in Nottingham on an interim basis.
This is an opportunity for an experienced children's services leader to join the Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the council's locality-based approach.
About the Role
As Head of Locality, you will provide strong leadership across locality services, championing relationship-based practice and ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time.
You will work closely with Family Help, education, health and wider partners, driving effective partnership working and ensuring services remain child-centred, responsive and outcome-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strong operational and strategic leadership across locality children's services.
- Championing relationship-based and child-centred practice.
- Driving service improvement, quality practice and performance.
- Ensuring effective safeguarding arrangements are embedded across services.
- Developing strong multi-agency partnerships with education, health and wider services.
- Supporting and inspiring teams to deliver high-quality services.
- Translating strategic priorities into effective operational practice.
- Ensuring services respond effectively to the needs of Nottingham's children, young people and families.
- Contributing to the continued development of Nottingham's locality-based approach.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant senior leadership experience within children's social care and/or locality services.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and statutory children's services.
- Proven experience of driving service improvement and delivering positive outcomes.
- Strong partnership-working and multi-agency experience.
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop teams effectively.
- Strong strategic and operational leadership skills.
- Experience managing performance and delivering sustainable improvements.
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current Social Work England registration.
