Private Household Housekeeper

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, trustworthy and highly organised Housekeeper to join a busy private household in Lancashire. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining a high standard throughout the home.
The successful candidate will take pride in creating a clean, organised and welcoming environment while supporting the day-to-day running of a busy family home. This position requires discretion, professionalism and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of all areas of the home to an exceptional standard.
- Deep cleaning of the property on a scheduled basis.
- Laundry care, including washing, drying, folding and organising.
- Ironing and care of delicate and luxury garments.
- Wardrobe management, including organising clothing, seasonal wardrobe changes and garment storage.
- Bed making and changing bed linen.
- Household organisation, ensuring cupboards, storage areas and household supplies remain well maintained.
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning products and household essentials.
- Cleaning and maintaining outdoor living areas, patios and garden furniture as required.
- Light gardening duties, including keeping external areas tidy and presentable.
- Occasional grocery shopping and collection of household items.
- Receiving deliveries and assisting with household logistics.
- Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors where required.
- Assisting with occasional household errands as requested.
- Maintaining complete confidentiality and respecting the family’s privacy at all times.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a private household or high-end hospitality environment.
- Excellent cleaning and housekeeping skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong laundry and garment care knowledge, including handling delicate fabrics.
- Experience managing wardrobes and household organisation.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- A proactive, flexible and positive attitude.
- High levels of honesty, integrity and discretion.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
