About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our restaurant leadership team. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help oversee the daily operation of the restaurant, lead and develop the team, and ensure every guest receives exceptional service. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
- Lead, motivate, and develop front and back-of-house teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and presentation are maintained at all times.
- Manage staff scheduling, labour costs, and productivity.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, licensing, and company policies.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Support the achievement of sales, profitability, and operational targets.
- Take responsibility for the restaurant in the General Manager's absence.
About You
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
- A passionate leader with excellent communication and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, and customer service.
- Commercially aware with experience managing labour, costs, and sales performance.
- Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Cafe Francois is situated in the hustle and bustle of Borough market. We are an all day brassiere serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its fast paced due to the nature of borough market, however the market bar and the large terrace offer a peaceful retreat to the market stalls and vast amount of people.
Pay: £58,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
