Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst making a positive impact on children's lives. The Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are maintained at all times. Practitioner needs to have experience with children from 9 months.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation among children
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children to explore and learn confidently
- Support children's emotional and behavioural development through positive guidance and communication
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any concerns or incidents
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines, including meal times, naps, and play sessions
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any relevant issues
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organisation within the nursery setting
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff or interns as required
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide team members effectively
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualification (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent) is preferred
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
