We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced General Litigation Paralegal to join our busy and growing litigation department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated paralegal who enjoys a varied caseload and wishes to develop their litigation experience within a supportive and established law firm.
The Role
Working alongside experienced solicitors, you will assist with a broad range of contentious matters. Depending upon your experience, you will be encouraged to take responsibility for your own files under appropriate supervision.
The work is varied and may include:
· General civil and commercial litigation
· Contractual and commercial disputes
· Property and boundary disputes
· Landlord and tenant disputes
· Debt recovery
· Consumer disputes
· Professional negligence claims
· Contentious probate and inheritance disputes
· Preparing and responding to pre-action correspondence
· Drafting letters of claim, responses and other legal correspondence
· Assisting with County Court and High Court proceedings
· Preparing court forms, applications and trial/hearing bundles
· Drafting witness statements and chronologies
· Reviewing and organising documentary evidence
· Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, courts and other solicitors
· Undertaking legal research
· Monitoring court directions and procedural deadlines
· Assisting fee earners with the day-to-day management of litigation files
The Candidate
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and able to work effectively in a busy litigation environment.
The successful candidate should ideally have:
· Previous experience working within a litigation department or legal practice
· A good understanding of civil litigation procedure
· Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules and the litigation process
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Good drafting skills and attention to detail
· The ability to analyse documents and identify relevant issues
· Excellent organisational and file-management skills
· The ability to prioritise work and manage deadlines
· Confidence when dealing with clients and other professionals
· Good IT skills and experience of legal case-management systems
· The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Pay: £25,420.00-£43,551.10 per year
