Job Title: Support Worker - Female
Based: Central Reading
Hours: Full time; 37 hours a week (shift pattern which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract Ending 31.03.27
Reporting to: Nova Manager
Salary: £29,175.00 p.a. depending on experience

Job Purpose:
To support female clients with complex and multiple needs within a Psychologically and Trauma Informed Environment to make positive changes in their lives whilst residing in a 24-hour supported female only project. Those accessing this service will have a history of long term or cyclical rough sleeping and/or being vulnerably housed.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support
Build trusting, trauma informed and recovery focused relationships and enable clients to make empowered and informed choices about their future.

Assertively manage conflict and anti-social behaviour, with a personalised approach, and maintain a balance approach to risk, as well as being engaging, inspiring and assisting to improve individuals social integration.

Establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships with other agencies to deliver effective support to clients such as CGL, The Mustard Tree.

Support clients to available community resources and in-house group sessions and facilitate house meetings.

Support clients in identifying and accessing relevant education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities.

Participate in the assessment procedures, working with applicants and referring agencies to ensure appropriate and detailed information is gathered.

Carry out trauma informed risk and needs assessments and safety plans with clients in line with Launchpads assessment policies and procedures.

Develop SMART support plans with clients with the aim of maximising clients opportunity to succeed and to develop independence.

Utilise motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in support and achieve the goals on their support plan.

Ensure all support is person centred, trauma informed and treats clients as individuals. This includes promoting client dignity, independence and wider social needs and ensuring their views and needs are the primary focus of support.

Support the Housing team to minimise rent arrears by providing financial management and welfare benefits support and advice to clients.

Supporting clients to move on to permanent housing or other suitable move on options when appropriate.

Supporting clients to have a say in how their services are delivered and to provide opportunities for clients to communicate their views to each other and to Launchpad.

Work collectively with the team to meet contract requirements with regard to key performance indicators such as move on.

Represent Launchpad at external meetings, case reviews and forums in a positive, professional manner, ensuring the needs of the client are the key focus.

Initiate case conference, multi-agency risk management meetings when appropriate, with a focus on dynamic person centered outcomes.

Carry out weekly room checks to ensure clients maintain their licence agreements, creating appropriate goals if needed.

Raise repairs, maintenance and void works according to Launchpad Policy & Procedures, by carrying our appropriate inspections and tests, and ensuring follow up.

Comply with all H&S, housing and legal legislation in line with Launchpad policies and procedures.

Gather feedback from clients to feed into service delivery.

Supervision of volunteers / mentors according to the needs of the business.

Assist clients with Housing Benefit and welfare claims thereby maximising income.

Keep accurate and timely records on case management systems which are of an exceptional quality according to the contract requirements and targets, providing reports as required.

Ensure all records and files are maintained and held securely and that the confidentiality of information is upheld, including CCTV operations.
General
-
Assist in promoting awareness of homelessness and the needs of homeless people in the wider Reading community.

Assist with the development of policies, procedures and practices in relation to the Nova service

Put into practice the client engagement, participation and co-production strategy.

Represent Launchpad at multi-agency meetings.

Attend and participate in shift handover meetings, one-to-one meetings, reflective practice, annual reviews, internal and external meetings, training and development as appropriate.

Operate within the framework of policies and procedures within Launchpad.

Contribute towards the development of Launchpad in terms of services and policies.

Observe and work within Launchpads values of Respect, Empower, Integrity and Influence.

Assist with the development of new and existing support services.

Work flexible hours according to the needs of the contract and clients.

Previous use of InForm software package (Desirable)
Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years experience and supporting vulnerable clients; also possibly those with complex needs
-
Experience of multiple needs and working in a multiagency / partnership solution focused way
-
Experience of working with female clients with multiple support needs (Desirable)
