Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated FEMALE Care worker from Kensignton to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personal care, support, and companionship. The Care Worker will also assist with medication administration and behaviour management for clients with special needs, including those with dementia.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or reactions.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviours.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each client's needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care setting such as nursing homes or assisted living is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is advantageous.
- Experience in hospice care is a plus, particularly in providing end-of-life support.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A caring attitude and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for this role.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
