About the Role:
We’re recruiting on behalf of a long-established and highly respected manufacturing business based in Kirkcaldy. With a strong reputation for investing in both its people and its plant, they’re now looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of a Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technician.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer or technician from a high-volume production or industrial background who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working as part of a close-knit team.
The site is commutable from across Fife, Dundee, Perth, and parts of Edinburgh, with ample parking and good local transport links.
The Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday – 3-shift rotation
- Monday to Thursday: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am
- Friday: Shorter shifts: 6am–12pm / 12pm–6pm / 6pm–12am
- 38-hour paid week (including paid breaks)
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Carrying out mechanical maintenance and repair across a busy production facility
- Diagnosing faults and supporting first-line electrical fixes (motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, etc.)
- Performing routine preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Supporting upkeep of plant utilities – including boilers, compressed air systems, steam, and refrigeration
- Working on continuous improvement and asset reliability
- Maintaining strong standards in Health & Safety and compliance
What We're Looking For:
- A time-served mechanical engineer or maintenance technician
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
- Confident with fault-finding and hands-on plant maintenance
- Some basic electrical knowledge is helpful
- Any exposure to steam or HPHW boilers is a bonus
