Every week, you could help a young person feel more confident, more connected and more ready to succeed. Katherine Low Settlement is looking for volunteers to support young people from refugee and newly arrived backgrounds through our Future Foundations programme in Battersea.
Location: Battersea, London Time: 2.5 to 3 hours a week (term time)
Commitment: Minimum 6 months, starting from your first session
Programme: Future Foundations, Katherine Low Settlement
Each club blends focused support with fun, creative activities that help build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging. You'll still get school holidays off.
Pick a club that works for you
- Youth Club (Ages 14 - 21) Mondays 4:00-7:00pm, term time only Support younger children with homework, reading and structured play.
- Senior Homework Club (Ages 12 - 16) Wednesdays 4:30-7:30pm, term time only Help secondary aged students with schoolwork, confidence and communication, then join in with group games and creative activities.
- GCSE Revision Club Tuesdays 5:00-6:30pm or Wednesdays 5:30-7:00pm, term time only Support GCSE students with focused revision and exam confidence, in a small and encouraging setting.

Can't commit to coming in person? We also run a Remote Mentoring role, one hour a week, fully online, open to volunteers anywhere in the UK. Take a look on our website: klsettlement.org.uk/support/volunteering
What you'll do
- Support young people with homework, reading, revision or school projects
- Build confidence through games, conversation and encouragement
- Help run arts, crafts, sports or group activities where relevant
- Work alongside experienced youth workers and other brilliant volunteers

What we're looking for
- Kind, patient and enthusiastic people
- Good listeners who enjoy spending time with children or teens
- No experience needed, just a willingness to help and learn
- Volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome
