About the Role
Gray Healthcare is recruiting a Male Support Worker to support a man living independently in his own home in Norwich.
He is supported with an acquired brain injury and mental health needs and receives 1:2:1 support, 24 hours a day, from a consistent male support team.
This is a person-centred role focused on promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, safety, and meaningful community living. You will support the individual to maintain structure, build confidence, and live a fulfilling life in his home and local community.
He enjoys boxing sessions, watching football, playing football, and being active. You will use these interests to promote engagement, routine, and positive outcomes while delivering safe, respectful, reliable support.
What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting him to live safely and independently in his home and community

Promoting routine, structure, and meaningful activity

Following person-centred care plans and risk assessments

Using calm, consistent, and least restrictive approaches

Supporting emotional wellbeing and managing distress

Building a trusting and professional relationship

Working as part of a skilled, consistent team
What We’re Looking For

Experience in health and social care, ideally:
-
mental health
-
acquired brain injury

Experience supporting behaviours of distress

Ability to adapt communication to individual needs

Calm, resilient, and consistent approach

Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
-
Strong understanding of person-centred care and independence
-
Motivation to promote meaningful engagement and outcomes
Desirable:

Full UK manual driving licence

Working Hours

22-hour contract
-
1 x 12-hour day shift (8am–8pm) per week

Sunday shift: 10am–8pm
