Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing/Procurement Officer to manage the procurement process and optimise supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services essential for our organisation's operations. Previous experience in MRP systems is highly desirable. Duties
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including requisitioning, sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of goods and services
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favourable terms and reliable delivery schedules
- Utilise MRP systems to track procurement requirements and maintain accurate records
- Analyse supply chain data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise inventory levels
- Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and products in line with production schedules
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and evaluate existing supplier performance
- Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contractual agreements to achieve organisational objectives
- Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, warehouse and production to forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulations throughout all procurement activities
Experience
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management within a similar industry.
- Fully competent in Microsoft Office, specially Excel.
- Experience in MRP systems.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with logistics management and supply chain optimisation techniques
- Experience working with inventory management systems is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
