Experienced Youth Worker - Llysfaen & Denbigh
16 hours per week - 1-day Llysfaen + 1 day Denbigh

Are you a qualified, experience Youth Worker who can connect with young people at very different stages of their lives?
Thanks to funding from Moondance Foundation and The Postcode Lottery Fund, Youth Shedz is looking for an experienced, adaptable and down-to-earth Youth Shed Assistant to work across two of our funded projects in Llysfaen and Denbigh.
We are looking for one person who can build genuine, trusted relationships with young people across the 11-25 age range and adapt their approach according to age, circumstances, individual need and level of engagement.
Two different projects
Llysfaen - 1%ers: You will support targeted work with a small group of young people who can be amongst the hardest to reach and engage. This requires patience, resilience and the ability to build trust gradually, work one-to-one and in small groups, and recognise that progress looks different for every young person.
Denbigh Youth Shed: You will support a broader group of young people within an open, welcoming Youth Shed environment, helping them get involved in activities, develop relationships, explore their interests and access support and opportunities as their individual needs emerge.
Across both projects, you will work alongside Scott, Founder and CEO of Youth Shedz. In this job your relationship with young people comes first. You might be supporting a younger teenager struggling to engage with education, an older young person thinking about their next steps, facilitating an activity, having an important one-to-one conversation or simply spending time alongside someone until they are ready to trust you.
About Youth Shedz
Youth Shedz works with young people aged 11-25 across North Wales, creating safe, welcoming spaces where they can belong, build trusted relationships, try new things and get the practical and individual support they need to move forward. We want young people to be able to laugh, learn, experiment, make mistakes and thrive.
Key requirements
· A recognised professional Youth Work qualification (or be willing to work towards Level 2 Youth work qualification)
· Substantial experience of working with young people across the 11-25 age range.
· Experience of supporting young people with additional needs, complex circumstances and/or significant barriers to engagement.
· Confidence working one-to-one, with targeted small groups and in wider group-based youth work.
· Strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and safe youth work practice.
· A full driving licence and access to reliable transport.
· Based within Conwy or Denbighshire, or within a reasonable commuting distance of the delivery locations (ideally around 20-30 minutes).
