We are seeking a skilled and reliable Technician/Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards. Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools to dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicle components efficiently.
- Diagnose mechanical issues through inspection and testing procedures, implementing effective solutions.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for each vehicle.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the calibration and servicing of MOT testing equipment as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, repair, or MOT testing is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily tasks.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications related to vehicle mechanics or MOT testing are advantageous but not essential.
- A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred to facilitate movement between locations if required.
