Location: Home-based with travel across the Midlands & North of England

About the Role
UNIT8D Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for several upcoming Structures Examiner (STE3 / STE4) opportunities across the Midlands and North of England.
We’re keen to speak with candidates ranging from junior STE3 level through to experienced STE4 examiners who are looking to work on a diverse portfolio of rail infrastructure projects.
The successful candidates will carry out examinations and inspections of a variety of civil engineering assets, ensuring they are maintained safely and in accordance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
- Carry out examinations and inspections of civil engineering structures.
- Identify, assess and accurately report defects.
- Produce clear and concise examination reports.
- Work safely in accordance with client procedures and industry standards.
- Liaise with engineers, project teams and other stakeholders.
- Travel to project locations across the Midlands and North of England as required.
Requirements
We’re interested in hearing from candidates with some or all of the following:
- STE3 and/or STE4 competency.
- Experience carrying out structures examinations.
- Experience working on rail infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of structural defects and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Highly Desirable
- PTS Sentinel (training may be considered for the right candidate).
- Experience inspecting bridges, tunnels, retaining walls or other civil engineering structures.
- Working at Height experience.
- Confined Space experience.
- Rope Access (IRATA).
- Bridge examination experience.
- Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree).
