Duties
- Safely operate passenger carrying vehicles (PCVs) on designated school run routes within the Harrogate area, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical integrity and cleanliness before each shift
- Pick up and drop off students at designated stops, ensuring timely arrivals and departures while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and colleagues to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs throughout your shift
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately to ensure ongoing safety and reliability
- Uphold professional standards of conduct, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a positive attitude at all times
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver with a valid driving license suitable for PCV vehicles
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with students, parents, schools, and team members
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed schedules and route instructions accurately
- Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety procedures, and best practices for passenger transport
- Previous experience as a <PERSON> driver or similar role is advantageous but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of professionalism and safety awareness
Pay: £17.00-£23.00 per hour
