Pharmacy Counter Assistant
McGregor's Chemist is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public and providing excellent customer service in a busy community pharmacy.
As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming environment while supporting the pharmacist and wider pharmacy team with the day-to-day running of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Serve customers at the pharmacy counter and process sales using the till.
- Offer advice on over-the-counter products within the scope of your training and refer customers to the pharmacist when appropriate.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, pricing, and replenishing stock.
- Maintain attractive product displays and ensure shelves are well stocked.
- Answer telephone enquiries and direct calls as required.
- Help keep the pharmacy clean, tidy, and well organised.
- Support the pharmacy team with general administrative and housekeeping duties.
- Follow all pharmacy procedures, confidentiality requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Experience
- Previous retail, pharmacy, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Experience using a till or point-of-sale system is an advantage.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter healthcare products is beneficial but not required.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
