The Role
We are looking for a highly organised Production Planner to join our team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to ensure work flows efficiently through the factory and customer deadlines are consistently met.
You will work closely with production, purchasing and management to balance workloads, manage priorities and respond to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Plan and schedule production work to meet customer delivery requirements
- Manage and prioritise workloads across multiple manufacturing processes
- Liaise with shop floor teams to ensure smooth workflow and resolve bottlenecks
- Monitor the progress of jobs and adjust schedules where necessary
- Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding timelines and changes
- Maintain accurate planning data within our system (JobBoss)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing workflows and recommending enhancements.
Experience
- Previous experience in a production planning role would be advantageous
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally sheet metal fabrication or a similar industry
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and a team-focused approach
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- Good IT skills and confidence working with planning systems
Experience with JobBoss is not required – full training will be provided.
