The Role
We are looking for hands-on, highly skilled Site Supervisors to lead the physical installation of our bespoke, natural play environments. This is a "working foreman" role—you will be leading a small team of installers on-site, reading landscape drawings, cutting and installing heavy timber structures, and ensuring the entire project runs smoothly.As the main point of contact on-site, you are the face of Green Play Project. You will balance technical build skills with excellent communication, ensuring our clients receive a professional, polite, and stress-free experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Leadership & Efficiency: Manage daily operations on-site, directing installers and subcontractors to hit build milestones on schedule while minimizing material waste and downtime.
- Client Relations: Act as the polite, professional, and helpful face of the company on-site. Communicate progress clearly to clients (such as headteachers, park managers, and developers) and handle any on-site queries with a positive attitude. [1]
- Structural Carpentry & Landscaping: Read technical drawings to erect bespoke timber structures, round-log play units, and structural platforms. Oversee excavations, foundations, and timber retaining walls.
- Health & Safety Management: Deliver daily tool-box talks, manage site risk assessments, ensure full PPE compliance, and maintain a spotless safety record in line with SSSTS guidelines.
- Asset Care: Take full responsibility for the dedicated site vehicle, ensuring tools are organized, secure, and well-maintained.
Requirements
- Certifications: Valid SSSTS certificate and a CSCS card are mandatory. A clean, valid UK driving licence is essential to drive the company site van.
- Skills: Proven background in structural carpentry/joinery combined with practical landscaping or groundworks experience.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding communication skills, a polite demeanor, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Mindset: Enthusiastic about working outdoors with natural materials to create unique, high-quality spaces for children and communities. [1, 2]
