We're looking for an experienced and passionate professional who wants to do more than respond to safeguarding concerns – someone who wants to shape culture, influence practice and help ensure that safeguarding, compliance and continuous improvement are embedded throughout our organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team in a role that combines strategic influence with operational leadership. Working across Derby Homes, you'll lead the development of safeguarding policy, quality assurance, workforce capability and organisational learning, ensuring our services remain legally compliant, customer-focused and aligned with regulatory expectations.
You'll provide expert advice and guidance to managers on complex safeguarding matters, lead organisational learning from audits, complaints and safeguarding reviews, develop training programmes that build confidence and capability, and represent Derby Homes within key multi-agency safeguarding partnerships across the city.
We're looking for someone who can build trusted relationships, influence at all levels and translate legislation, regulation and best practice into practical solutions that improve services and outcomes for our customers.
About you
You'll have significant experience of safeguarding within housing, local government or another regulated public service, together with an excellent understanding of safeguarding legislation, compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
You'll be confident developing policy, delivering training, leading continuous improvement and supporting colleagues to make informed, proportionate and defensible decisions. Just as importantly, you'll be someone who can inspire others, build strong partnerships and champion a positive safeguarding culture across the organisation.
