Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Shop Sign Designer/Maker to bring creative visions to life through innovative signage solutions. In this dynamic role, you will craft eye-catching, effective shop signs that enhance branding and visual communication for diverse projects. Duties
- Collaborate with clients and team members to understand branding goals and project specifications for signage.
- Design visually engaging shop signs using industry-standard software such as Corel Draw which is used every day and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for shop sign fabrication, incorporating HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems when applicable.
- Oversee the entire shop sign-making process from concept development through material selection, cutting, assembly, and finishing.
- Utilize digital design tools to create mockups for client approval and ensure designs meet branding standards.
- Operate shop sign-making equipment including CNC routers, vinyl cutters, laser engravers, and other fabrication tools with precision.
- Incorporate photography, video editing, and motion graphics using Adobe After Effects or similar software to enhance signage presentations or digital displays.
- Ensure all signage complies with safety standards, local regulations, and accessibility guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in graphic design, digital design, or sign making with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative signage solutions.
- Knowledge of web design languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript; familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress is a plus.
- Strong understanding of branding principles and visual storytelling techniques.
- Experience with UI/UX design concepts to create engaging digital signage or interactive displays.
- Familiarity with sign fabrication equipment (vinyl cutters, CNC routers) and traditional craftsmanship skills.
- Excellent presentation skills to communicate ideas clearly to clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
