Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and love keeping things moving?
Pegasus Couriers is looking for a Fleet Team Leader / Coordinator to oversee day-to-day fleet administration and vehicle coordination across our two Northern Ireland depots in Belfast and Portadown. This is an in-depot role with the preferred candidate living near to one of these locations.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role perfect for someone who excels at scheduling, communication, and visual inspections. You will act as the key link between our drivers, hire companies, and depot management, ensuring our transport needs are met efficiently through meticulous planning and organisation.
While you will report directly to the Fleet Manager, you will work closely on the ground, taking day-to-day direction from our On-Site Managers to keep both depots running seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Coordination: Allocate and deallocate hire vehicles to drivers efficiently based on daily operational needs.
- Damage Control & Compliance: Complete rigorous "on-hire" checks for new vans to ensure existing damage is documented, and run "pre-off-hire" checks to catch any changes before vehicle return.
- Inspections: Conduct weekly physical spot-checks on all hire vehicles across both depots, identifying and reporting any new damage to drivers and On-Site Managers immediately.
- Maintenance Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact to coordinate vehicle servicing, minor mechanical repairs, and breakdown assistance with hire companies and the internal fleet team.
- Logistics Support: Deliver and collect vehicles from repairers and maintenance shops as required.
- Depot Support: Work hand-in-hand with On-Site Managers to resolve fleet-related issues quickly, whether at the depots or out on the road.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong organisational and time-management skills (managing two locations requires a proactive approach).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with drivers, hire providers, and depot managers.
- A sharp eye for detail—essential for spotting and documenting vehicle damage accurately.
- A valid, clean UK driving license (essential for vehicle drop-offs and collections).
- A self-motivated attitude with the ability to take direction and work independently across multiple sites.
- All applicants will be subject to a Background Check and class room training (which we pay for) to ensure the correct person has access to all the depots.
