Duties
- Support the Manager with the daily running of the After School Club.
- Supervise and support playworkers and other members of the team.
- Take responsibility for the club when the Manager is absent.
- Ensure the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all children attending the club.
- Plan and deliver fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion and children’s independence.
- Maintain accurate registers and other required records.
- Support the preparation and serving of snacks and refreshments.
- Ensure the club environment and equipment are safe, clean and well organised.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour and other club policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally and positively with parents, carers, school staff and colleagues.
- Assist with risk assessments, incident/accident records and safeguarding documentation where required.
- Help ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios are maintained.
- Support the Manager with staff development and the smooth running of each session.
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare, teaching, nannying or similar roles with a passion for working with children
- A relevant childcare/playwork qualfication is desirable
- Caring, approachable and enthusiastic about working with children
- Strong command of English
- Able to work independently and use initiative when required
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a lively environment
- Ability to lead activities confidently while fostering a positive atmosphere for children and staff
- Knowledge of child development principles and safety regulations applicable to childcare settings
- Flexibility to work after school hours and occasional weekend events as needed
The successful candidate will be required to undergo the appropriate ENHANCED DBS and Safeguarding checks.

Pay: £14.00 per hour
