Customer Excellence Provider – Front of House Join Garage Pro and become the person who makes a great customer experience happen.
Location: Garage Pro
Role: Full-Time – Front of House / Customer Excellence Provider
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
At Garage Pro, we don't want our front of house to feel like the reception desk at a typical garage.
We want it to feel welcoming, professional, organised and completely focused on the customer.
That's why we call this role our Customer Excellence Provider.
You'll be one of the first people our customers speak to and one of the last people they see when they collect their vehicle. From the initial phone call or booking through to updates, handover and follow-up, you'll play a huge part in how our customers feel about Garage Pro.
And that matters to us.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people, takes pride in doing things properly and gets satisfaction from turning a good customer experience into an exceptional one.
What will you be doing?
You'll be at the heart of our customer journey, working closely with both our customers and the rest of the Garage Pro team.
Your day will include:
- Welcoming customers and making them feel looked after from the moment they arrive
- Answering incoming calls and enquiries in a friendly, confident and professional way
- Booking customers and their vehicles into our workshop
- Understanding what the customer needs and making sure the right information is captured from the beginning
- Keeping customers informed while their vehicle is with us
- Explaining work clearly and confidently, without confusing garage jargon
- Preparing customers for vehicle collection and creating a professional handover experience
- Helping customers understand recommendations and future work their vehicle may require
- Making sure promises, updates and follow-ups actually happen
- Supporting the smooth running of the workshop diary and customer bookings
- Working closely with our technicians and wider team so that everyone has the information they need
- Maintaining our high standards across the front-of-house environment
- Building genuine, long-term relationships with our customers
Ultimately, you'll help make dealing with a garage easy.
Who are we looking for?
We're far more interested in finding the right person than simply finding someone who has worked behind a garage reception desk before.
You might already have experience in the motor trade, customer service, hospitality, retail, service advising or another customer-facing environment.
But the most important thing is your attitude.
You'll probably be someone who:
- Is naturally warm, friendly and confident with people
- Communicates brilliantly both face-to-face and over the phone
- Is organised and comfortable managing several things at once
- Notices the little details that other people miss
- Takes ownership rather than waiting for somebody else to sort something out
- Remains calm and professional when things get busy
- Enjoys solving problems
- Can have confident conversations about prices, recommendations and additional work
- Understands that great customer service isn't just being friendly — it's doing what you said you would do
- Takes pride in their appearance, their workplace and the standard of their work
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Wants to be part of a team that's continually trying to improve
You don't need to be a mechanic.
We'll help you develop the automotive knowledge you need.
What we can't teach as easily is a genuine desire to look after people.
This isn't a "sit behind the desk and answer the phone" job.
We want someone who wants responsibility.
Someone who will get to know our customers.
Someone who'll notice when something hasn't been followed up.
Someone who'll pick up the phone rather than leave a customer wondering what's happening.
And someone who understands that when a customer walks through our doors, their experience is every bit as important as the work happening on their vehicle.
There will be busy days. There will be customers who need reassurance. There will be problems that need solving.
That's where a great Customer Excellence Provider makes the difference.
What you'll get from us
In return, you'll be joining a business that wants to do things properly.
You'll receive:
- A supportive team environment
- Training and development within the role
- The opportunity to build your knowledge of the automotive industry
- Responsibility and the freedom to make a genuine difference to our customers
- A varied working day where you're dealing with people rather than staring at the clock
- The opportunity to grow with Garage Pro as we continue to develop the business
Most importantly, you'll be joining a team where high standards matter and great work gets noticed.
Think you'd be brilliant at it?
If you're the sort of person who remembers someone's name, keeps their promises, enjoys helping people and takes pride in creating a brilliant experience, we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to know everything about cars.
You need to know how to look after people.
Send us your CV along with a short introduction telling us a little about yourself and why you think you'd make a great Customer Excellence Provider at Garage Pro.
We look forward to meeting you.
