The Civils Operative is responsible for the safe planning, coordination and execution of civil, infrastructure and grounds maintenance activities across the SAGE Gas Terminal. The role combines hands-on practical civil maintenance with planning, permit control and contractor oversight, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with site standards, CDM requirements and permit-to-work systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, raise permits and oversee contractors carrying out civil works including road resurfacing, concrete repairs, slab laying and paving.
- Oversee CDM projects including excavations and remedial repairs.
- Scope, plan and deliver infrastructure repairs including storm damage and roof leaks.
- Liaise with vendors and manage contractors for specialist civil tasks.
- Produce and manage permits for civils activities.
- Review RAMS to ensure site-specific risks are addressed.
- Raise and execute work orders and conduct planned preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records for all civils activities.
- Operate site plant and equipment including tractor, vacuum tanker, forklift and cherry picker.
- Mentor contractors to ensure safe systems of work.
- Undertake general civil and infrastructure maintenance tasks.
- Support winter maintenance activities including snow clearing and gritting.
