The Role
We are looking for a Senior or Principal Civil Engineering Technician to join our growing London team.
Working alongside Project Engineers and Directors, you will play a key role in the production and delivery of highway, drainage and external works designs for a variety of residential, commercial and industrial developments. You will be responsible for developing engineering designs into technical approval and construction drawing packages, supporting project delivery from concept through to construction.
This is primarily an office-based role with occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality drawings, details and model packages for civil engineering projects.
- Develop engineering sketches and design information into technical approval and construction drawing packages.
- Produce designs and technical packages for: S104 Drainage Agreements, S38 Highway Agreements, S278 Highway Agreements, Private Drainage Schemes, External Works and Levels Packages, and other related section agreements.
- Model vertical and horizontal road alignments together with foul and surface water drainage systems.
- Produce construction details, sections and technical drawings.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, clients and other members of the design team.
- Attend site visits, surveys and design team meetings where required.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality standards and programme requirements are achieved.
About You
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar civil engineering technician role.
- Strong understanding of highways, drainage and earthworks design.
- Experience preparing highway and drainage design packages.
- Knowledge and understanding of BIM principles and collaborative working.
- Excellent technical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Desirable
- Experience using Civil 3D.
- Experience using Site3D.
- Experience using MicroDrainage.
- EngTech with ICE, or willingness to work towards professional qualification with full support.
- Full UK driving licence.
