Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of fire doors and associated hardware.
- Installing and maintaining passive fire stopping systems, including fire batts, mastics, collars, and sprays.
- Conducting detailed inspections, surveys, and assessments of fire doors and fireproofing measures, including compliance recommendations.
- Travelling to multiple sites across Central and South East London (company van provided).
- Ensuring fire doors meet all relevant British Standards and building regulations (e.g., BS 8214, BS EN 1634).
- Rectifying faults and defects (closers, seals, locks, etc.).
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Accurate documentation and reporting of completed work.
- Providing expert advice to clients on fire safety and compliance.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire Door / Fire Stopping Engineer (or similar fire safety role).
- Relevant qualifications and certifications (e.g., FIRAS, BM TRADA, NVQ Level 2/3 in Passive Fire Protection).
- Strong knowledge of British Standards and building regulations (PAS 9980, Approved Document B).
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Experience quoting and upselling maintenance solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of fire stopping or suppression systems.
- Strong customer service and aftercare skills.
