Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Responsibilities
- Responsible for washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support the kitchen team
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
- Ensure all work surfaces and equipment are sanitised and organised according to health and safety standards
- Support with waste disposal and recycling procedures to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist in restocking supplies and ingredients as needed during service hours
- Help with setting up and clearing down dining areas when required
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Skills
- Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to hygiene standards
