Job Title: Transport Driver
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £48,000 - £55,000 OTE
Hours: 45 hours per week, specific times to be discussed during interview
The role:
To safely, efficiently, and professionally transport vehicles betweens our locations in Hampshire using a multi-car transporter while maintaining the highest standards of safety, customer service, and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV Class 1 (C+E) car transporter in accordance with all road traffic legislation and company procedures.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles using approved loading techniques and manufacturer guidelines.
- Carry out daily vehicle walk-around checks and complete defect reporting in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all transported vehicles are inspected for damage before loading and after delivery, accurately completing vehicle condition reports.
- Maintain compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, and tachograph requirements.
- Plan routes effectively to maximise efficiency while meeting customer delivery schedules.
- Complete all transport documentation accurately and electronically where required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the transporter and associated equipment.
- Report accidents, incidents, defects, delays, or customer concerns promptly.
- Deliver exceptional customer service when interacting with customers, dealerships, manufacturers, and colleagues.
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies, including safe loading and unloading procedures.
- Assist with operational requirements as directed by management.
We would expect you to:
- Hold and maintain a valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
- Maintain a valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Comply with all DVSA regulations and Road Traffic legislation.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry best practice.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times when required.
- Have an excellent understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
- Have strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Have good communication skills.
- Have the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Have a professional and customer-focused attitude.

- Previous experience operating a car transporter.
- Experience loading prestige, fleet, or commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of vehicle inspection procedures.
- ADR awareness (where applicable).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb onto transporter decks safely.
- Capable of securing vehicles using straps, chains, and wheel restraints.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physically fit to undertake loading and unloading duties.
