Capital Tuition Group Birmingham South & Solihull provides high-quality tuition and educational support to children and young people across Birmingham, Solihull and the wider UK.
We are qualified teacher-led and form part of a national tuition network that has supported more than 100 schools. Our services include one-to-one tuition, small-group programmes, school partnerships, alternative provision and educational pathways.
We are expanding our online tuition provision and are looking to recruit experienced, dependable and engaging qualified teachers in:
- Mathematics
- English
- Science
- Humanities
- 11+
The opportunity
You will deliver high-quality online tuition to individual learners and small groups during weekday evenings and weekends.
Most tuition will support school-age learners, including those preparing for SATs, 11+, GCSEs, Functional Skills and, where appropriate, A Levels.
We are particularly interested in teachers who can commit to consistent weekly availability and build positive, long-term relationships with their learners.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging online one-to-one and small-group lessons
- Plan sessions around each learner’s age, ability, curriculum and objectives
- Identify knowledge gaps and adapt teaching accordingly
- Explain challenging concepts clearly and confidently
- Use questioning, modelling and assessment effectively
- Support learners preparing for examinations and formal assessments
- Provide appropriate challenge for higher-attaining learners
- Build confidence, motivation and independent learning skills
- Maintain concise and accurate session records
- Provide constructive feedback on progress
- Communicate professionally with the CTG team
- Follow all safeguarding, confidentiality and data-protection procedures
- Maintain consistent attendance and provide suitable notice of any unavoidable absence
Essential requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status
- Have strong classroom or online tuition experience
- Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge
- Be confident teaching online using interactive resources
- Be available during weekday evenings, weekends or both
- Have access to a reliable computer, stable internet connection, webcam and suitable teaching environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Be dependable, organised and committed to consistent weekly delivery
- Hold an appropriate Enhanced DBS or be willing to complete the required safeguarding checks
- Be able to provide two satisfactory professional references
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
