Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Self Employed Function Manager to oversee and coordinate various events and functions. This role involves managing client relationships, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving sales through upselling opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with experience in hospitality or related sectors. As a self-employed professional, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while delivering outstanding service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of functions, ensuring smooth execution from planning to completion
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and customise event arrangements accordingly
- Upsell additional services or products to maximise revenue opportunities during events
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and optimise event schedules
- Maintain high standards of guest services, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times
- Organise event logistics, including setup, catering, decor, and equipment management
- Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure seamless operations
- Handle on-the-spot problem-solving to address any issues that arise during events
- Promote the organisation’s services through effective communication and relationship-building
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or fundraising sectors is highly desirable
- Strong upselling skills with the ability to identify sales opportunities naturally during interactions
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to juggle multiple events efficiently
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanour
- Ability to deliver outstanding guest services with attention to detail
- Capable of working independently as a self-employed professional with proactive initiative
- Organised approach to managing schedules, resources, and client expectations
