Duties
- Provide comprehensive personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration and monitor health conditions in accordance with care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Support clients with daily activities such as light housekeeping, laundry, and shopping errands
- Manage behavior management strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands safely and responsibly
- Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid skills and effective communication with healthcare professionals
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, changes in condition, and daily routines
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
Experience
- Prior assisted living or home care experience demonstrating a strong understanding of patient needs
- Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or hospice needs
- Background working in nursing homes or senior care environments preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques for challenging behaviors
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record for transportation duties
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client transfers or mobility aids
