Join Our Team as a Food Production Team Leader. At Carrs Pasties, we take pride in everything we make — and we're looking for a hands-on Team Leader to help guide our food production team as we grow our range of fresh sandwiches, salads and bakery favourites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily production of fresh sandwiches, salads and bakery items, including pasties, hitting volume and quality targets
- Organise and allocate tasks to keep the production line running smoothly and efficiently
- Prepare, portion and assemble products to approved recipes and specifications
- Bake off pastry products to the correct temperature and finish standards
- Complete food safety and compliance documentation accurately, including temperature checks, cleaning records and allergen controls
- Monitor stock levels, place orders with approved suppliers and rotate stock using FIFO principles
- Supervise, motivate and support the team throughout each shift, including briefings and on-the-job training
- Conduct back-to-work interviews, appraisals and identify training needs within the team
Qualifications
- Proven management or supervisory experience in a food/retail setting with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while fostering a positive work culture.
- Knowledge of safer food management systems, time management practices, and phone etiquette standards.
- Management certification or relevant training is a plus; previous supervising experience is essential.
