About Us
There are over 17 million women aged 40+ in the UK, and almost nowhere built for them to strength train. Most gyms feel intimidating or irrelevant to them. Most online programmes assume high motivation and no support.
So we built something that didn't exist: a space for midlife and older women, coached by midlife women who actually understand what this stage of life needs.
No mirrors to hide from. No music that isn't hers. No programme built for someone half her age.
We specialise in taking beginners and getting them strong and mobile so they can live the life they want. No cookie-cutter workouts, no diet talk, no quick fixes... just real strength training, personalised to each woman, delivered in small groups where she's known by name.
Who We Coach
24 sessions run across the week, 60 women train with us, and we've got a waiting list to expand further. The average age is 53 and our oldest member is 82.
Deadlift PBs of 100kg+ are not the exception here, they're increasingly the norm.
One member in her mid-sixties lifts nearly double her own bodyweight. Another at 68 just hit a deadlift PB of 85kg after guarding her back and avoiding things that might aggravate it for most of her adult life following an injury when she was younger.
These aren't outliers.
They're women who thought strength training wasn't for them, who were never any good at sport at school, who walked in nervous and unsure... and found out exactly what they're capable of.
We're giving them a genuine new lease of life, in a space that's safe, welcoming, supportive, and joyous.
Join the Movement
This isn't just a coaching job. We're building something bigger than one Brighton studio... for midlife and older women to reclaim strength, on their own terms, in spaces designed entirely around them.
Location one is Central Brighton.
Location two and three are already in our sights.
Join now, and you're not filling a rota slot, you're helping shape what this becomes.
The Role
You'll coach small groups of up to 5 women, each following her own tailored programme. This isn't a turn-up-and-deliver gig, you'll be building consistent relationships, adapting on the fly, and creating a space where women feel safe trying something new.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification
- 2–3+ years' experience coaching real people
- Experience working with women, ideally in midlife and beyond
- Understanding of how perimenopause and menopause affect training, recovery, mood and motivation
- Confidence to adapt in the moment and support multiple women with different needs in one session
- A genuine belief in strength training as a long game, not a quick fix
- Hugely competent and skilled at what you do, but with warmth, generosity and a proper sense of humour
Bonus if you...
- Are a 40+ woman who understands the struggles midlife women face
- Came to fitness later in life yourself
- Care about building a space that ditches diet culture and intimidation for good
