Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team in the West Midlands.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on forklift operation, stock movement, loading and unloading vehicles, and maintaining an efficient warehouse environment.
Job Description
As a Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our warehouse. You will be responsible for safely operating a forklift truck to move, stack, and organise stock while supporting general warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift truck throughout the working day.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Move stock, pallets, cages, and bulk bags around the warehouse and yard.
- Stack and palletise books, bric-a-brac, electrical items, clothing, and other donated goods.
- Organise stock into designated warehouse areas to maximise efficiency and accessibility.
- Carry out stock handling and stock movement tasks accurately.
- Assist with inventory control and stock tracking.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the warehouse.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and conduct daily equipment checks.
- Support the wider warehouse team in achieving operational targets.
- Carry out general warehouse duties as required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (mandatory).
- Previous experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Confident loading, unloading, and stacking stock safely.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Experience within recycling, textiles, waste management, logistics, or distribution.
- Experience operating additional warehouse equipment.
- Basic stock control or inventory management experience.
