We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting vulnerable elderly residents in a nursing home setting. This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual care plans. You will support residents with daily living activities while ensuring their safety, comfort and dignity at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care including washing, dressing, bathing, continence care and mobility support
- Assist with food and fluid intake, ensuring meals are prepared and served to required standards
- Support residents with mobility aids and personal equipment
- Follow care plans and risk assessments to maintain safety and wellbeing
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
- Respect confidentiality, dignity and individual rights at all times
- Work in line with company policies, procedures and health and safety guidelines
About You
- Caring, patient and respectful approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
- Willingness to complete the Care Certificate (paid for by the company) within 6 months if not already achieved
- Basic knowledge of health and safety, manual handling, safeguarding and infection control
