Job Introduction

As a Ward Catering Assistant with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital, you’ll play an important role in delivering delicious meals and a positive experience to patients, staff, and visitors. What You’ll Do:

Prepare, portion and deliver meals and refreshments to patients safely and efficiently.

Support patients, visitors and colleagues by providing a friendly, professional and person-centred service.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection prevention throughout your shift.

Check, rotate and store stock correctly, ensuring food safety standards and expiry date procedures are followed.

Assist with basic food preparation and the safe operation of catering equipment.

Follow all health and safety procedures, including manual handling and safe working practices in temperature-controlled environments.

Work flexibly across catering areas to support the team and help deliver an excellent service.
What You Bring:

A caring, positive approach and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent service to patients.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.

The ability to stay organised and work calmly in a busy healthcare environment.

A strong understanding of the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection prevention.

Experience in catering, hospitality or healthcare is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

A willingness to learn, follow procedures and adapt to changing priorities.

Reliability, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality
